Lisbon voted the best city of the year

The city of Lisbon was the big winner at this year's Wallpaper Design Awards, which selected the people, places and products that they considered the best. The Portuguese capital triumphed in the "Best City" category.

The judges chose Lisbon over cities such as San Francisco (USA) and Vienna (Austria), highlighting the construction of the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), in Bélem, and the ARCOLisboa art fair, together with the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.

The new cruise terminal, designed by architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça, also impressed the judges who picked Lisbon as the winner.

It should be noted that Wallpaper is one of the most respected and influential publications in the world of design, and in 2015 it selected the Portuguese brand Vista Alegre as winner of the "Best Coffee and Cake" category.
